The Green Buildings Event 2024 is now on the agenda: Thursday 11 April 2024. ‘A quick guide to sustainable buildings’ is the theme of this edition. It will be an afternoon with many inspiring speakers, all of whom will offer specific tips & tricks to make real estate more sustainable. Sterrin Smalbrugge

She graduated Cum Laude from Wageningen University & Research and knows all about reptiles and amphibians. As an ecologist, Sterrin Smalbrugge knows better than anyone else the role biodiversity plays in making the earth sustainable. In her TED Talk “The truth about reptiles and why we should save them”, Sterrin explains why reptiles in particular are so important to our ecosystem.

 

Ester Barendregt has twenty years of experience in the financial sector and government. She joined Rabobank as an economist in 2015 and now leads the Netherlands, Economy, and Sustainability department at RaboResearch. As Chief Economist, she and her team shape RaboResearch’s vision on the Dutch economy and communicate it.

Teun van de Keuken

For years, Teun van de Keuken could be seen on Dutch television, where, for example, he reported for the Dutch consumer affairs magazine Keuringsdienst van waarde. Teun also made the impactful documentary series ‘De Vuilnisman’ (The Rubbish Collector), in which he investigated the state of waste disposal in the Netherlands.

Mindy Howard

Mindy Howard was until 2017 sustainability manager at several large companies such as Aegon and Shell. But now Mindy is making her childhood dream come true and, at 57, she will become the first Dutch woman in space! Mindy is aiming for more women to think big in technology fields.

Jaap Korteweg

Jaap Korteweg is a Dutch organic farmer, the 9th generation in his family, and a pioneer in the field of vegetarian food. In 2008, he founded the Vegetarian Butcher, which has since gained international recognition. Jaap Korteweg was named Entrepreneur of the Year for his impact on the food industry and sustainability. His dedication has transformed the world of vegetarian cuisine.
