Job opening: Algorithm Development Lead

Are you looking for a job in which you can make an impact in sustainability at the international level? Are you the hands-on project lead who chases deadlines and milestones? And are you someone who gets things done with a proven track record of turning project goals into tangible achievements? Then we have a great opportunity for you!

What we do at CFP Green Buildings

CFP Green Buildings is a leading provider of sustainable building solutions, committed to helping our clients make informed decisions regarding energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.

It is our mission to make all buildings and homes more sustainable. We do that through on-site consultancy services and by providing large portfolio owners or managers with data through digital solutions. Our Green Buildings Tool (GBT) is a powerful software that aids clients in optimising their building portfolios for maximum sustainability and energy savings.

About the position

As the Algorithm Development Lead at CFP Green Buildings, you will play a pivotal role in developing, testing, and validating algorithms for our Green Buildings Tool. Leading a self-steering multidisciplinary team, you will ensure the successful implementation of the tool in multiple countries. Your primary responsibilities, which will occupy around two-thirds of your time, include project management, analytical work, and maintaining data accuracy to support our global expansion efforts.

In addition to these core responsibilities, we understand the importance of personal and professional growth. Therefore, the remaining one-third of your role can be tailored according to your interests and skills, offering opportunities in project management, product ownership, or consultancy. This unique aspect of the role allows you to shape your career path within our organisation, aligning your work with your passions and expertise while contributing to our mission of sustainability.

With these responsibilities, you will become a successful Algorithm Development Lead:

  • Lead the development, testing, and validation of algorithms for the Green Buildings Tool in 10 to 20 new countries annually.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless implementation and integration of algorithms into the tool.
  • Perform market-level data checks and updates to ensure data accuracy.
  • Balance the level of detail with business sense, following the 80/20 rule, to achieve efficient and effective algorithm development.
  • Monitor and update elements such as carbon emission factors based on energy grid changes.
  • Drive results-oriented project management to meet project deadlines and goals.

Do you have what it takes?

To excel in this role, you should possess a blend of key qualities and qualifications. A strong analytical and technical mindset is essential for understanding energy efficiency in buildings. While a degree in data science, engineering, or mathematics could be helpful, your demonstrated ability to manage projects and get things done with the help of many but with sole responsibility sets you apart. Having experience in consultancy or a background in building/civil engineering is a plus but not mandatory.

At the same time, you can perfectly balance the level of detail with business sense: sometimes, less is more. Your business-savvy approach enables you to align algorithm development with broader strategic objectives while effectively prioritising tasks. Good communication skills are essential for collaborating well with colleagues and stakeholders. Above all, you’re someone who gets things done with a proven track record of turning project goals into tangible achievements. Your passion for sustainability and commitment to excellent results make you a valuable addition to our team.

If you are a dedicated and analytical professional with a passion for sustainability and energy efficiency, we invite you to join our team and make a meaningful impact on the future of sustainable building practices.
