Opening by Mayor Jeltje Hoekstra
The anniversary day was festively opened by Jeltje Hoekstra, Mayor of Enkhuizen, who led the official starting ceremony. She highlighted the special connection between the city and the event:
“The CFP Green Buildings Regatta brings the rich maritime history of Enkhuizen to life in a modern way. This sailing event, where sport, collaboration and sustainability go hand in hand, is a perfect fit for our city. At a time when we seek connection and want to care for the future, the Regatta ties in beautifully with Enkhuizen’s ambition to be green and innovative.”
An edition full of highlights
With 13 boats and 150 participants, the 20th anniversary edition was one to remember. It was perfect sailing weather, with plenty of sunshine and a steady force 4 wind. After the race, participants were treated to a lively welcome ashore by a Brazilian brass band with dancers, adding an extra festive note to the day.
The conditions were ideal for a sporting contest on the IJsselmeer. Henk Schiltkamp, on behalf of the race committee, expressed his appreciation: “It was a wonderful and sportive edition. We managed to run two great races and almost everyone completed them. For some the results were surprising, for others perhaps a little disappointing. Thanks to the organisers and all participants. For us as the race committee it was once again a very rewarding experience!”
ISS World takes the win
First place this year went to ISS World with boat ONYX. Facilicom with Flyer secured second place, followed by KATE Innovations with Racy Hanse in third. The winners demonstrated not only strong sailing performance but also teamwork and smart tactics.
