Exciting battles on the water at the Dutch Open J/80 – CFP proud sponsor
From sunny breezes to strong gusts: the Dutch Open J/80 2025 had everything needed for an exhilarating sailing weekend. Departing from the RZV in Naarden, 23 boats from both the Netherlands and abroad competed fiercely over three days for the coveted title. CFP Green Buildings proudly sponsored the event, with CEO Bram Adema as one of the enthusiastic participants.
Don Juan crowned champion
After a nerve-wracking final weekend, where the margin on Sunday was just five points, Team Don Juan—helmed by Wouter Köllmann—claimed the victory. They skilfully stayed ahead of the strong field. The championship was only truly decided on the final day, where shifting wind conditions and clever tactics proved crucial for success.
Bram Adema: Winds from every direction
“The Dutch Open J/80 is always thrilling! Rarely have we had so much sunshine and excellent wind! The cold water and warm air made the wind highly unpredictable, causing big variations in pressure across the course. The top three teams usually managed it well, while we didn’t always find ourselves in the best positions. Still, we’re happy with our 6th place out of 23 boats.”
“At the World Championship in Nieuwpoort in early July, we’ll be back in action, this time against more than 50 boats from over 10 countries. We still have a few places available for supporters who would like to cheer us on from one of the accompanying ships. Hope to see you there!”
On to the J/80 World Championship, 7–11 July 2025 in Belgium
A highlight this year was the strong turnout from Belgian and French teams—a great lead-up to the J/80 World Championship in July, to be held in Nieuwpoort. CFP Green Buildings will be a main sponsor of the event, which promises to be a true sailing spectacle. We’ll be attending with a select group of clients, watching the battles unfold at sea from one of the spectator boats, as teams from no fewer than 30 countries compete. A unique opportunity to witness this spectacular sport up close! The Dutch Open was already a perfect dress rehearsal: the J/80 class is gearing up for a fantastic summer.
