As a Product Owner at CFP Green Buildings, Bram works daily on innovative solutions that make sustainability accessible to everyone. But what does sustainability mean to Bram personally? In this interview, he shares his views on sustainable technologies, his passion for sports, and how he makes conscious choices in daily life.
“What inspires me most is the opportunity to work on an innovative product with a significant social impact, like the Green Buildings Tool. It’s incredibly energising to contribute to making the built environment more sustainable and ensuring that green solutions are accessible to all.
I’m always looking for new opportunities and smart functionalities that truly help users move forward. Working on an innovative product means experimenting, learning, and discovering what works best. That dynamic, the creative process, and the direct impact make this work so exciting for me.”
“I closely follow developments in electric vehicles and charging infrastructure. Although the technology is no longer new, the sector remains highly dynamic. Manufacturers continue to innovate and compete to develop the most efficient electric vehicles. It’s fascinating to see how these innovations not only reshape the automotive market but also influence broader sustainability issues such as energy storage and grid management.”
“I would love to focus on sustainability in the sports sector. During my graduation research, I came across a quote from Nelson Mandela that has stuck with me: ‘Sport has the power to change the world.’ Sport is a global passion and has a huge impact on behaviour and awareness. I believe that by combining sports with sustainable values, we can inspire people to embrace a more sustainable lifestyle.”
“I try to think consciously before making a purchase and avoid products I don’t really need or will only use a few times. This includes cheap, low-quality clothing or gadgets that end up forgotten after one holiday. By consuming more mindfully, you not only save money but also reduce your environmental impact.”
“Skiing. While I don’t necessarily see it as ‘guilty,’ I’m aware that a trip to the Alps isn’t the most sustainable choice. Ski resorts consume a lot of energy and impact biodiversity. Fortunately, I now drive an electric car to my ski destination. It doesn’t solve everything, but it’s at least a step in the right direction.”
