Climate risks: from data to tailored advice
Do you want insight into the climate risks affecting your building(s)? Or are you looking for a complete analysis with a personalised adaptation plan? At CFP Green Buildings, you have come to the right place. We offer data, concrete advice, or a combination of both.

Discover the climate risks of your buildings
What climate risks do buildings actually face? That depends on both the environment and the building itself. A declining groundwater level can lead to foundation problems. With more extreme weather, flooding is a risk, and in urban areas heat stress is an increasing threat. If you have a green roof, your building is already partly protected against heat and flooding.
Our climate risk analysis provides insight into the climate risks your building or portfolio faces. At a glance, you can identify the vulnerabilities of your buildings. Ideal for valuations of building portfolios worldwide.
Is it time to take action? Then our tailored adaptation plan is the right next step. We help you get started with concrete advice and measures. Useful in combination with, for example, a BREEAM analysis or ESG strategy.
Climate risk analysis by our consultants
What does an adaptation plan look like? CFP combines automated data analysis (using the Green Buildings Tool) with a site visit by our consultants. During this visit, they assess both the environment and the building and determine a substantiated climate risk score.
Based on this score, a concrete adaptation plan is drawn up, with targeted measures including prioritisation, cost indication and feasibility.
The smart tooling is combined with expert tailored advice. The approach aligns with the DGBC Framework Climate Adaptive Buildings, the market standard for climate-adaptive real estate.

The benefits of an adaptation plan
Our consultants are happy to provide tailored advice. This means no standard report, but real-time data translated into concrete, practical measures.
This allows you not only to better assess risks, but also to take action in time where necessary and make your real estate future-proof. In addition, the climate risk analysis can serve as a due diligence tool during acquisitions and support compliance with (future) legal requirements in the Netherlands. Our methodology and advice are aligned with the EU Taxonomy and we follow the guidelines of DGBC (Framework Climate Adaptive Buildings).
On the way to future-proof real estate
Our climate risk analysis and corresponding advice are visualised in the Green Buildings Tool. This makes it measurable and clear at all times where your building stands. What steps will you take to make your building future-proof?

Frequently asked questions about climate risk and buildings
What are climate risks?
There are many different climate risks in the Netherlands. Examples include flooding or damaged foundations due to water ingress, roof damage caused by extreme heat or storms, subsidence due to soil drying, and so on. The extent of these risks depends on both the environment and the individual building.
What is an environmental score?
The location of a building determines which climate effects apply. Examples include flooding due to heavy rainfall, the presence of dikes, drying soils such as peat and clay, heat stress in cities, or severe storms.
What is a climate risk score?
This is the combination of the building score and the environmental score. What is the building exposed to, and how well is it protected against this? This provides a clear overview of the risks.
What is an adaptation plan?
Based on the climate risk score, you can develop an adaptation plan. This outlines which concrete measures you will take to protect your building against climate risks. In this way, you make your building future-proof.
What is the difference between climate mitigation and climate adaptation?
Climate mitigation focuses on reducing carbon emissions and limiting climate change. Climate adaptation is about adjusting real estate to the effects of climate change, such as heat stress, flooding and soil subsidence.
A climate risk analysis helps to provide insight into which adaptation measures are needed to make real estate future-proof.
Are climate risks required in property valuation or financing?
Climate risks are playing an increasingly important role in property valuation, financing applications and investment decisions. In the Netherlands, the sustainability paragraph (DuPa) within valuations requires insight into, among other things, climate-related risks. In addition, European frameworks such as the EU Taxonomy and CSRD encourage transparency on climate impact and physical risks.
A climate risk analysis supports due diligence, risk assessment and the substantiation of property valuation and financing.
